Starting about five years after the Battle of Endor--and also including the altered story as a prologue--SWVII covers almost two years in its span. Endor itself saw the fall of the Alliance and Empire together, the deaths of Maximilian Veers, Mon Mothma, Wedge Antilles, and Lando Calrissian, and the decline of the Galaxy into utter chaos. Only after five years of bitter civil wars and economic collapse does the Galaxy begin to get back on its feet. Stories of betrayal, hard-won battles, and the attempts of a Galaxy to heal the wounds of the Galactic Civil War weave together to form the rich tapestry that was Star Wars Episode VII: A Shattered Hope.
